Press pLAy : Keri Hilson

Keri Hilson has just released her latest album No Boys Allowed and you are going to want to take a listen! It's pretty dam good. This is her second album and in my small-but-loudly-stated opinion it's got the potential to out-sell her first album In A Perfect World. The music is all about boys being stupid and all the ways they break our hearts. I mean who doesn't like that kind of music?! Maybe men but Keri Hilson is one hot fox and I rate most will forgive the content and buy the album anyway.

Awesome tracks include:
* Lose Control ---- "Let's lose control"
* Breaking Point ---- "my love has a limit"
* All the Boys ----- "I didn't know what love was until you knocked on my door"
* Pretty Girl Rock

It's almost the new year, bring it in with Keri Hilson, Press pLAy :)

Culture Class: Merry Christmas

Christmas time has rolled around and I am spending the festive season in the United Kingdom. There's snow, Queen Elizabeth and London Bridge, what more could you ask for?! Christmas time in Europe is completely different to the hot summer Christmas I am used to in South Africa. I think that here there is more of a build up to the actual day. Right now i am stuffed to the core with turkey, potatoes and other lovely Christmas treats and I'm watching Bill Bailey! What a genius! Laughing my Christmas lunch off! Hope you all are having a Merry Christmas and appreciating why we have this holiday! It's not all about the presents. :) Merry Merry and all that's good!!!

Press pLAy : T.I.

No Mercy is the latest album from rapper T.I. and I'm liking it. He's fresh out of a stint in jail and you can hear the retaliation in his lyrics. Nothing like jail to provide some good song sauce to splash the world with.

No Mercy has many tracks featuring many other big names in rap game such as Eminem, The Dream, Kanye West and more. T.I.'s done good on this album and it is destined for big things.

Best tracks include:
* No Mercy
* That's all she wrote
* Big Picture

Check it out, you won't regret it :) Press pLAy!

Press pLAy : Plain White T's

Wonders of The Younger is the latest album alternative rock band Plain White T's has on offer.This album marks several changes for the band as they attempt a different sound with the lead singer changing from Tom Higgenson to guitarist Tim Lopez. I like this album, its got a new edge and the songs are less about love and longing, and more about the the strange way the world and its people work together.

Best tracks include:
* Cirque Dans La Rue
* Body Parts
* Make it up as you go
* Wonders of  the Younger

Each track has something different to offer and it is definitely a more chilled out listening experience.

So don't delay and Press pLAy, Plain White T's is the call of the day :)

Press pLAy : Hinder

Newest album on the 2010 rock scene is Hinder with All American Nightmare. I must say I absolutely LOVE the album artwork. I'm a sucker for drawings and this one puts the P in Powerful! Go Hinder!

As with previous Hinder albums, the music is heavy, soul crushing (in a good way) and it all hits home. Austin Winkler, the lead singer, has an outstanding voice that demands attention and is hard to switch off. You'll wanna keep listening to this album a few times over.

Best tracks include:
* The Life
* Everybodys Wrong
* All American Nightmare (its loud and proud)

Give it a listen, Press pLAy :)

Press pLAy : Natasha Bedingfield

Long awaited and oh-so-sweet is what I have to say about Natasha Bedingfield's newest album Strip Me.
The album cover is amazing and the songs are even better. This album definitely meets the high standards Natasha Bedingfield has set for herself in the past. It's heartfelt, real and purely beautiful music.

Awesome tracks include:
* Strip Me (my personal favourite)
* Try
* No Mozart
* Recover
* All I Need

Check it out asap, and Press pLAy of course :)

Art Buzz: Lab Art 2010

It's called Life's a joker.

Press pLAy: Meg & Dia

Here, Here and Here is the 2009 album from Meg & Dia and its probably the best indie rock I have heard in a long time. I'm absolutely in love with this album.

The tracks I keep replaying are:
* Here, here and here
* Fighting for nothing
* Agree to disagree

Do yourself a big favour and listen to this album asap, its on another level of brilliant!

Press pLAy :)

Press pLAy: KT Tunstall

KT Tunstall's newest album Tiger Suit is exactly the kind of music I have been craving to listen to lately. Feeling a little odd at ease, a little confused, a little angry maybe, then this album is what you need to be listening to.

Her voice is to die for, its beautiful, calming and reassuring. Awesome album for sure!

Best tracks include:
* Lost
* Golden Frames
* Uummannaq Song
* Fade like a Shadow
* Difficulty

Nothing else to say but Press pLAy! :)
